Parry McCluer Students Receive DSLCC Foundation Scholarships

 
Clifton Forge, VA (June 13, 2019) - The DSLCC Educational Foundation has awarded 162 scholarships totaling nearly $160,000 to 124 area residents, including ten graduating seniors from Parry McCluer High School. The students were presented their scholarships totaling more than $12,000 at the PMHS awards ceremony on May 15.

The PMHS scholarship recipients are:

Madison Craun, LIFT Scholarship; Madison Ford, Marion & Cecil May Scholarship; Gabrielle Goodwin, LIFT Scholarship and Talent Search Scholarship; DiLaina Huffman, DSLCC Honors Scholarship; Hailey Huffman, Lancaster Scholarship; Katie Mikels, Lancaster Scholarship; William Roberts, L. Paul Wiggins Memorial Scholarship; Zella Rowsey, Dabney S. Lancaster Memorial Scholarship; Tiffany Shafer, Lancaster Scholarship; Makenna Smith, BARC Electric Co-Op Scholarship and DSLCC Educational Foundation Board of Directors Scholarship.

The DSLCC Educational Foundation warmly congratulates all 2019-2020 scholarship recipients. Since its inception in 1980, the DSLCC Educational Foundation – due to its most generous donors – has awarded nearly 1,500 student scholarships, worth more than $2.2 million, to students from Alleghany, Bath County, Covington, James River, Parry McCluer, and Rockbridge County high schools, as well as non-traditional and continuing students at DSLCC. Established as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation exists solely to support and promote Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. The Educational Foundation’s primary focus is to keep education affordable through the awarding of student scholarships and to provide students the support they need to achieve their goals. The Foundation also supports the college through the purchase of enhanced technology and classroom equipment and assists in funding innovative programming.
