Lucas Conner Appointed Intern Assistant Principal At AHS

 
Low Moor, VA (june 24, 2019) - The Alleghany County School Board has appointed Mr. Lucas Conner to serve as an intern assistant principal at Alleghany High School effective July 1, 2019.

     When asked about his appointment, Mr. Conner stated, "I am really excited about this opportunity to serve the amazing students, faculty, and staff of Alleghany High School, along with the great parents and supportive community in Alleghany County. Alleghany High School is an excellent school with a vision for preparing students for success in the 21st Century. I have loved being a teacher at Alleghany High School, and I look forward to stepping into my new role as part of the leadership team here." 

Mr. Conner attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, George, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Ministries. Mr. Conner earned his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree from Regent University in 2016 and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree through the University of South Carolina. Mr. Conner began teaching science at Alleghany High School in 2015 and has also served as the Science Department Team Leader. He is a Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator and has Level 1 certification in the Flipped Learning Global Initiative. While at Alleghany High School, Mr. Conner has served on many committees and has also served as head coach for JV Boys Soccer during 2016-2017.

     â€śI am very pleased to have Mr. Conner join the administrative team at Alleghany High School.   He has been a very valuable member of our teaching staff, and I can’t wait to see him perform in his new role as an intern assistant principal”, stated Dwayne Ross, principal of Alleghany High School.

     â€śMr. Conner is an excellent teacher whose use of technology has enhanced his classroom for his students,” stated Gene Kotulka, Superintendent. “Furthermore, his knowledge of instruction will be a great benefit as he begins his administrative career.”
