Covington City Council Sets Two Called Meetings, Work Session July 1-2

 
Covington, VA (June 27, 2019) - There will be a Called Meeting of the Council for the City of Covington on MONDAY, JULY 1, 2019 AT 4:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia.

The purpose of said meeting is as follows:

1.     To hold a closed session pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information

     Act Sec. 2.2-3711 A.1 regarding Council appointed personnel/ position of City Manager

2.     To do any and all things necessary and proper to accomplish the above.

1.     Report regarding the City Debt

2.     Allen Dressler, Director of Parks and Public Works, regarding review of FY 20 Street Paving Bids

3.     Discussion regarding DCR Trail Grant funding opportunity

4.     Discussion/consideration of HOPE Performance Agreement

5.     Discussion/consideration of disposal of certain City property at auction and to conduct public meetings to receive input regarding the sale of the Nettleton and old Rivermont School properties

2.     To consider approval of HOPE Performance Agreement

7.     To consider appointment of 2 members of Council to the Committee regarding Joint Services

8.     To consider second reading of Ordinance O-19-05 regarding the Utility Deposit Program

there will be a Called Meeting of the Council for the City of Covington on TUESDAY, JULY 2, 2019 IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SCHEDULED WORK SESSION HELD AT 6:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia.

The purpose of said meeting is:     

1.     To hold a closed session pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act:

(a) Sec. 2.2-3711 A.7 for the purpose of consultation with legal counsel regarding the right of way to the City’s radio tower site; and (b) Sec. 2.2-3711 A.1 for the purpose of discussion regarding Council appointed personnel/position of City Manager

     2.     To do any and all things necessary and proper to accomplish the above.
