CF Lions Club Met June 27th
Group Will Assist July 4 Parade

 
Clifton Forge, VA (june 27, 2019) - Clifton Forge Lions Club held its regular meeting on Thursday, June 27th in the dining room of Scott Hill Retirement Center in Clifton Forge, Va. The meeting was called to order by Lion President David Davis. Club members joined in singing several songs before Lion Martha McMullian lead the group in reciting The Pledge of Allegiance followed by Glenn Linthicum giving the dinner blessing.

Following a delicious dinner prepared by “Chef” Chuck and staff, Lion David Davis turned the meeting over to Lion “Skip” McMullian who installed the club officers for the coming year. The following were reinstalled as officers of the Club. David Davis was installed as President, Lion “Skip” McMullian as Treasurer, and Glenn Linthicum as Secretary.

Plans for the upcoming Stars and Stripes Celebration in Clifton Forge were discussed. The Club has again been asked to handle the lining up of the entrants for the parade to be held at 11 :00 a.m. The festivities begin at 9:30 and end at 1:30 p.m. The Club plans to sell homemade ice cream downtown at the Sona Bank Plaza along with other food vendors during this time. After the parade there will be a Patriotic Program inside the Masonic Theater. There will be a special appearance of “Paul Revere,” s service of recognition of our service veterans, and a Patriotic concert by the Celebration Choir.

There being no further business, President Davis declared the meeting adjourned.
