Local Author Donates Book

Clifton Forge, VA (July 16, 2019) - Local author Michele Cook donated a copy of her first children’s book to the Clifton Forge Public Library.

“Goats in Coats: Patsy and Delores Go Exploring” features two Alpine goats who want to stay indoors and watch television, but their mother says they have to go outside and play. Along with their two horse friends, they embark on an adventure.

“Patsy and Delores are actually my goats,” Ms. Cook says. Along with other farm animals, they reside with her on Honeysuckle Hollow Farm in the Alleghany Highlands. “They also produce the milk for the natural soaps I make,” she says. Ms. Cook sells the soaps along with other natural products and fresh garden produce at both the Covington and Clifton Forge Farmer’s Markets.

Pictured is Mike Barnes, Library Director, receiving the book from Ms. Cook.

The Clifton Forge Public Library is located at 535 Church Street. For information on library programs or activities, phone 863-2519.
