UPDATED: Covington City Council Sets Called Meeting, Work Session Dec. 3, 2019

Covington, VA (Nov. 26, 2019) - There will be a Called Meeting of the Council for the City of Covington TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2019 AT 6:30 P.M. at Curfman Hall, Covington High School located at Lexington Ave., Covington, Virginia. The work session of Council to follow.

The purpose of said meeting is as follows:

1.     To hold a Public Hearing regarding possible sale of two (2) City lots adjacent to 304 S. Royal Avenue

2.     To consider sale of two (2) City lots adjacent to 304 S. Royal Avenue

3.     To do any and all things necessary and proper to accomplish the above.

A work session of the Council for the City of Covington will be held on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2019 immediately following the scheduled called meeting at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia

1.     Presentation on Audit Report by Robinson, Farmer and Cox Accounting Firm

2.     Presentation on Safety and Security at City Facilities

1.     To consider an appointment to the Redevelopment and Housing Authority

2.     To consider an appointment to the CSB Board

3.     To consider second reading of Ordinance O-19-12 regarding Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled

4.     To consider Resolution R-19-63 regarding Second Amendment Sanctuary City

5.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-64 regarding acceptance of DARE Program donation in the amount of $250

6.     To consider Resolution R-19-65 regarding acceptance of Local Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of $18,692 with local match of $9,346 (50/50 matching grant)

7.     To consider Appropriation Resolution R-19-66 regarding Local Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of additional $692 due to increase in grant award

8.     To hold a Closed Session pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act Sec. 2.2-3711A.1 regarding discussion of Administration Personnel Matters
