DSLCC Course: How To Learn To Be Successful Online

| Clifton Forge, VA (May 11, 2020) - Dabney S. Lancaster Community College has redesigned SDV 100, College Success Skills, to include additional material on how to be successful as an online student.
This course will provide essential success skills for graduating high school seniors. The two credit sections are offered at no cost to students on a first-come, first-served basis. The SDV 100 course is required for all DSLCC college transfer and Associate degree programs.
This five-week course teaches students to:
Become effective online learners
Stay motivated in an online environment
Develop time management for student success
Set goals for college
Explore college program and career paths
Develop online research skills
Understand financial management and the cost of higher education
Develop effective study habits
Make effective use of college resources
The enhanced class format is transferable to major four-year institutions throughout Virginia. SDV 100 College Success Skills is offered in an online environment with classes beginning June 2 and June 9. Space is very limited, and students are required to register in advance.

5-week terms
Session 1: June 2 – July 2; Session 2: June 9 – July 9
No cost to students
Meets course requirements for DSLCC college transfer and Associate degree programs
