Skywarn Announces Net Manager Change

Covington, VA (May 13, 2020) - It was announced on the Skywarn net that Josh Arritt, KF4YLM is stepping down as its manager after completing two years of service. Arritt is a contract engineer with a number of radio stations in the region, notably with Wheeler Broadcasting of Roanoke.

Kevin McCallister, N3ABC of Blue Ridge will assume Skywarn Net Manager effective immediately. He has previously subbed for Arritt over the past year and is immensely qualified for the position.

Arritt has a long-dedicated career in commercial and amateur radio. He will serve as a substitute for McCallister on occasion.

The Skywarn Net is conducted on several linked repeaters in southwest and central Virginia as well as southeastern West Virginia. Some 30 amateurs contribute weather information from their localities each Wednesday night starting at 9 PM.
