Thank you to Alleghany Highlands Frontliners at the Masonic Amphitheatre
Indoor Theatre Performances Cancelled Until End Of January, 2021

Clifton Forge, VA (July 22, 2020) - The Historic Masonic Theatre and Amphitheatre have announced that all indoor Theatre performances have been rescheduled or cancelled until the end of January 2021.

Ticket holders for performances scheduled through the end of January 2021 should call the box office for a refund, or to inquire if that particular show has been rescheduled.

“This was a difficult decision for our Board of Directors to make”, said Executive Director Justin Reiter. “This is about the safety of our patrons, volunteers, staff and visiting artists. If we can safely accommodate private events and rentals, we will consider those events.”

The Theatre had already postponed or rescheduled performances that were to take place in March, April, May and June.

The staffing of the theatre has been reduced to the Executive Director and the General Manager and expenses are being closely monitored.

“There are still bills to pay. We will continue to seek the support of our donors and patrons, and apply for grants, so we are well prepared when we are able to resume performances inside the Theatre”, Reiter continued. “In the meantime, we are thankful that we have the Masonic Amphitheatre to safely offer outdoor movies and events.”

Movie presentations at the Masonic Amphitheater are free to the public with social distancing observed. The times and dates of the movie presentations can be found at www.historicmasonictheatre.com or on the Theatre’s Facebook page.

The Thursday, August 6th, 2020 presentation of the movie, THOR, will be a celebration of our community Frontliners (First Responders, Fire, Rescue, EMS, Dispatchers, Deputies, Officers, Administration, and Staff). Free concessions will be available to all Frontliners. Reiter said, “THOR is a movie about super heroes—it is the perfect movie to honor and thank those people who have kept our community going during these COVID months”. Thor is sponsored by “The Way Coffee Shop”, Tammy and Shorty Wolfe; Susan and Ron Goings and The Historic Masonic Theatre.

“We hope to see many of you on the 6th to celebrate our Frontliner heroes, Reiter said. And when it is safe to return to the theatre, we will be here to welcome you back with lots of great performances.”
