The Alleghany High School Earth Sciences program is the beneficiary of a fairly new, Meade LightBridge model telescope, which is used for sky gazing and studying as a result of a donation from Mrs. Billie Beaudette. It was her late husband's instrument. From left to right are Lowell Galford, (holding the sign) is Phillip Soyring - both Earth Science teachers at AHS. Abigael Riley, Kaden Whitmer and Draven Lucas are the three students present. “We could not be more excited and honored to have this donation. Our students are anxious to put it to use especially when they get to the astronomy unit in the earth science curriculum. We are humbled that Mrs. Beaudette would think of us during her time of grief," said Kelly Huff, Director of Secondary Instruction for ACPS.
