Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation’s New Path Forward using Consultative Services of Hunton Andrews Kurth   Covington, VA (Oct. 13, 2020) - Today the Board of Directors for the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation (AHEDC) met and held its Kickoff Meeting with Hunton Andrews Hurth, a division of Hunton Williams that focuses solely on economic development strategy guidance for the public and private sectors. Through this engagement, AHEDC will also be utilizing Timmons Group to build on previous site analyses to generate an overall business plan for pad-ready site development of a parcel from the localities Joint Revenue Sharing Agreement adopted in January 2020. The Board of Directors, in recent months, has actively worked to guide AHEDC to the position it is in now in conjunction with the localities and plans to continue to aggressively pursue marketing/business development missions, direct company contact meetings and site selector outreach initiatives into 2021. AHEDC, its Board of Directors and the localities, remain centered on ensuring their efforts further economic opportunity through attracting new businesses and industry in order to create more jobs for all in the Highlands.
