Clifton Forge, VA (Nov. 5, 2020) - The John Hillert "Souper Sunday" event held on November 1st was a resounding success, according to several volunteers who helped pull off the annual effort.

The many local chefs and cooks who produced huge quantities of their favorite soups resulted in none left unsold.

Among those brewing up their best was Chuck & Carol Almarez, Kathy Bryant, Martha Crawford (Hillcrest Mansion Inn), Betsy & Buddy Carter, Jerry Meyer (Big Fat Jerry's Seasonings), Chef Ed McArdle, (DSLCC), Ann Wright, Adell Pettrey, Susan Goings, Jane Newkirk, Annette Hodges, Jerry Clark, Judy Clark, Jack Mason’s Tavern, Jim Hodges (Michael’s New York Style Pizza), Amber Nicely, Tony West, and Tawnya West Ross (Family Tree~Ts Cafe and Catering).

In addition to this wealth of effort, many volunteers did a huge amount of leg work to get the product into the hands of many buyers who paid $10 per quart, the proceeds of which will benefit the Clifton Forge Food Bank.
