Alleghany High School Student Demonstration Set Jan. 22, 2021   Low Moor, VA (Jan. 22, 2021) - The following is a news release from the Alleghany County School Division: "Alleghany High School students have planned a controlled demonstration for Friday, January 22, 2021, to support student-athletes in their quest to return to competitive play with teams outside of the division. "As this demonstration is scheduled during school time and on school property, it will be an ACPS division-supervised activity that will begin at approximately 11:30 am and conclude by 1:30 pm. It will be held on the Alleghany High School track at Mountaineer Field. It will be supervised by Alleghany High School faculty and staff. "Only students currently enrolled as B-Day students under the hybrid instructional plan will be allowed at the demonstration due to the day of the event, current scheduling of students and ACPS Health Mitigation Plan in correlation with COVID restrictions. Students who are designated as A-Day students, all virtual students and any other individuals are not to be on campus and will not be allowed to participate in the demonstration. "There will be two media staging areas separate from the actual demonstration on the perimeter of school grounds (front parking lot area and side hill above football practice field) in sight of the demonstration. Students/staff in attendance will have no interaction with local or regional media as this is still an instructional school day during academic hours and on school property. Media related questions should be relayed to the Central Office at 540-863-1800."
