LewisGale Hospital Alleghany Names Lee Higginbotham Chief Executive Officer

 
Low Moor, Va. (April 6, 2021) — LewisGale Hospital Alleghany has named Lee Higginbotham as its new chief executive officer effective May 1.

Higginbotham brings 20 plus years of experience to LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. He was most recently the chief executive officer of Dominion Hospital in Falls Church, Va. Prior to joining Dominion Hospital, he served as the chief operating officer and ethics/compliance officer at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Ky., and was the associate administrator at Chippenham and Johnston-Willis Hospitals and administrator of Levinson Heart Hospital in Richmond, Va.

“Lee’s healthcare experience, combined with his leadership style, will set a solid foundation and path forward for the hospital’s continued growth and success in the Alleghany Highlands community,” said Lance Jones, LewisGale Regional Health System market president. “His proven track record of strategic growth and ensuring operating excellence make him a perfect fit for the positon.”

Higginbotham earned his Master of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., where he double majored in history and politcal science. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is the recipient of the Regent’s Award and Service Award.
