Clifton Middle School Announces Fall Athletic Information   Low Moor, VA (July 26, 2021) - Clifton Middle School is gearing up for its fall athletic season and has released the following information: Students wishing to participate in fall sports at CMS must have a VHSL physical form completed after May 1, 2021, and a concussion form on file at the school prior to tryouts or practice. These may be turned in at the first practice. In preparation for tryouts, cheerleading clinics will be held Monday, July 26, Tuesday, July 27, and Wednesday, July 28 from 8:00 am to noon in the Alleghany High School gym. Tryouts will be on Wednesday, July 28, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Make-up tryouts will be held Wednesday, August 11, from 9:00 am to noon. Students may try out for only the fall season, only the winter season or both; however, all tryouts will be held now in order to prepare for the year. Football equipment will be handed out on Friday, July 30 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Alleghany High School. First practice is Monday, August 2nd from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at AHS. The first week of practice will be two , practices a day at AHS. First practice is from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, and second practice is from 7:30 - 9:00 pm. Players will remain at the school between practices. Volleyball open gyms will be Monday, August 2nd, Tuesday, August 3rd, and Thursday, August 5th from 9:00 - 11:00 am in the CMS gymnasium. Tryouts will begin August 9th and will take place Monday, August 9th through Thursday, August 12th from 9:00 - 11:00 am in the CMS gymnasium. Starting August 16th, practices will be from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in the CMS gymnasium. Middle school cross country will also begin practice on Monday, August 2, at 9:00 am at AHS. Practices will be held five days a week, with Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at AHS and Tuesdays and Thursdays at Clifton Middle School.
