Virginia State Police Investigating Fatal Crash In Alleghany County Timothy Handy Of Covington Dies At The Scene   Alleghany County, VA (Sept. 8, 2021) - Virginia State Police Senior Trooper L.A. Mann is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred yesterday (Sept 7) at 7:00 a.m. on Route 18, four-tenths of a mile south of Route 787 in Alleghany County. A 2002 Dodge Stratus was traveling north on Route 18 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle overturned, ejecting the driver. The driver of the Dodge was identified as Timothy Wayne Handy, 56, of Covington Va. Mr. Handy was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
