WestRock's Covington Mill Announces Position Changes

 
Covington, VA (Sept. 9, 2021) - WestRock’s Covington mill announces position changes that were internally announced in August.

Conor Chadwick has accepted the position of finance manager in the Finance department. He is the process lead for the mill’s financial reporting and analysis including the monthly close, forecasting process, and annual budgeting process. In this role, Chadwick will be charged with fostering the development of the analysts in the team to enable their growth and success in the Finance organization.

Chadwick received his B.S. in Finance from Penn State University in May 2015, and his MBA with an accounting specialization, in 2021, from Ohio University. He joined the Covington mill as a financial analyst in September 2015. Chadwick was promoted to senior financial analyst in August 2017 and lead financial analyst in 2018.

Jonathan Beristain has accepted the position of lead financial analyst in the Finance department. He will assist with the mill’s financial reporting and analysis including the monthly close, forecasting process, and annual budgeting process. Beristain will serve as the primary finance business partner to the Power / Recovery departments.

Beristain received his B.S. in Finance from George Mason University in May 2015. He obtained a Project Management certificate from the Project Management Institute in February 2020. He joined Canon Virginia Inc, in 2015, as a financial analyst overseeing the medical and recycling business. Beristain was promoted, in 2018, to a project analyst in operations for the medical manufacturing division.

Ben Robinson has accepted the position of financial analyst in the Finance department. In this position, he will assist with the mill’s financial reporting and analysis including the monthly close, posting journal entries, and completing various monthly and quarterly financial reports. Robinson will serve as the primary finance business partner to the Maintenance department and Storeroom.

Robinson received his B.S. in Biology from Roanoke College in 2016, and his M.S. in Accounting & Information Systems from Virginia Tech in 2018. He interned at Klockner Pentaplast from May 2014 to December 2017, working on various maintenance / storeroom inventory projects. He joined Brown Edwards & Company CPAs as an associate accountant in 2019.

Matthew Sebesta has joined the Covington mill finance team as a FLP financial analyst. As an FLP financial analyst, he will rotate through 8-month assignments in four different WestRock locations. This is his second rotation, and he will be with the mill’s finance team through February 2022. Sebesta will assist with the mill’s financial reporting and analysis including leading the month-end consumption process, distributing MOR reports, and leading a contract converting project. Sebesta will serve as the primary finance business partner to the Fiberline.

Sebesta received his B.A. in Economics from Wake Forest University in 2019, and his M.S. in Finance from the University of Virginia in 2020. He joined RTR Advisors as an analyst in 2020, and accepted a position of FLP rotational financial analyst with WestRock in the Consumer Mills division, in Atlanta, in January 2021.

Colton Harris has accepted the position of finishing / wrapline validator. In this position, he is the validator and maintenance representative for the roll finishing areas.                                         

Harris graduated from Covington High School in 2013. In 2017, he graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources Management. Harris interned at the Covington mill during the summers of 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he joined Alleghany Wood Products as an export log yard manager. Harris accepted the position of intermediate maintenance planner / supervisor in 2018, working on No. 1 and No. 2 paper machines at WestRock’s Covington mill.

Hunter McCoy has accepted the position of Associate Forester in the Forest Resources department. In this position he is responsible for working with Procurement to supply fiber for the Covington mill.

McCoy received an A.A.S. in Forest Management Technologies, in May 2021, from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. In 2015, Hunter accepted the position of tree planter and land management specialist for JMM, LLC. In 2015, he accepted the position of underground utilities technician for Bitter Creek Construction. During the summer of 2021, McCoy was a forestry intern for WestRock, in Covington.
