Criminal Investigation Leads to Arrest in Rockingham County

Covington, VA (Jan. 20, 2022) - On January 19, 2022, after a yearlong investigation conducted by the City of Covington Division of Police, Mr. Amilio Tirado of Elkton, VA was arrested at his home by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department along with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force. The arrest stems from an investigation of allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct with multiple juvenile victims.
Mr. Tirado was transferred from Rockingham Regional Jail to the Alleghany Regional Jail where he was taken before the court and arraigned on 26 felony charges including: Forcible Sodomy, Indecent Liberties, Aggravated Sexual Battery, & Object Sexual Penetration.
Mr. Tirado is currently being held without bond.
