Covington, VA (Nov. 17, 2020) - Covington High School track standout, Austin Angle, officially signed up with Concord College on Wed., Nov. 17th. According to his mother, Vanessa Phillips, "He started running track and when he had a meet at Concord University. He fell in love with the school and the coaching staff at which time it became Austin’s dream school."

Austin commented that, "I remember being that young 8th grader with a dream of being a college athlete. Now I’m standing here just signed my letter of intent and I couldn’t be more blessed. My journey through high school was just like any other. The hard work over the last four years finally paid off. I gave it my all the last 4 years and now it’s time to give my all on the collegiate level. I’m blessed to be apart of the team I will be with the coaches staff they have. I’m more than excited and I can’t wait!"

Vanessa continued, "As a mother it is amazing to Not only watch your child grow and improve but to actually watch him fulfill his dreams. I am very proud of all the hard work that Austin has put in on and off the track. We love you!"
