| Clifton Forge Council Holds Brief Called Meeting on Tuesday Night
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (June 24, 2025)— This evening, the Clifton Forge Town Council held a brief called meeting at town hall at 7 p.m. The 15-minute meeting contained five action items which included the following:
1) To adopt an ordinance imposing and levying taxes in Clifton Forge upon Real Property for the fiscal year from 7/1/25—6/30/26, and personal property and machinery and tools for the calendar year from 1/1/25—12/31/25.
2) To adopt an ordinance to amend section 86-95, water service charges and fees beginning 7/1/25 with no increase.
3) To adopt an ordinance to amend section 86-556, sewer service charge and fees beginning 7/1/25 to increase monthly rate to $72.20.
4) To adopt a resolution for fiscal year 2025—2026 operating budget and capital budget for Clifton Forge, appropriating the requisite funds for said budget.
5) To approve a request from Michael Foster, owner of Jack Mason's Tavern (JMT), to close off Race St. and the alley behind JMT on July 4th from 4 p.m.—9 p.m. to allow for Fourth of July Festivities.
Each of these were unanimously passed by council members.
