YMCA Holds 'Back to School Bash' for Local Children By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer Covington, VA (Aug. 6, 2025)— Yesterday the Alleghany Highlands YMCA, located at 101 YMCA Way in Covington, held a "Back to School Bash" for area kids. The event included free face painting, games, vendors, bouncy house, free hair cuts by several ladies from "Southern Steele Salon" in Covington, and much much more! Free backpacks were given out to children during the event in various colors, as well as snacks in the form of freshly-popped popcorn and water bottles. YMCA's CEO, Bobbi Wagner, reached out to let us know over 400 people attended the event!
