Covington, VA (Aug. 6, 2025)— "National Night Out" is an annual event that is held both in Covington and Clifton Forge on the same night at the same time which allows locals to get out and meet local law enforcement officers and other area first responders.

Covington's was held at Main Street Park, located at 708 West Main Street just beside the Jackson River, and included free face painting, several vendors, a dunk tank, coloring books, a bouncy house, free hot dogs and snow cones, and much more. Sheriff Kyle Matt Moore, Covington Police Chief Christopher "CJ" Smith —who, incidentally, was first in the dunk tank— and Town Manager Allen Dressler were among the first responders in attendance.
