'Dads and Kids Bowling Night' Draws Large Crowd at Thunder Alley By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer Covington, VA (Aug. 7, 2025)— It was an eventful night at Thunder Alley for the "Dads and Kids Bowling Night," hosted by the Department of Social Services and sponsored by Garten Trucking and Alcova Mortgage. The event ran from 6:00 p.m.—9:00 p.m. this evening and was open to all fathers/father figures and their children. Dozens of dads showed up with their children to enjoy a free game of bowling, a slice of pizza, refillable drink, coloring station, and brief introduction and prayer, courtesy of Pastor Brandon Nicely of Victory Baptist Church in Clifton Forge.
