Obituary for John Norman Cline John Norman Cline
D. D. Kerns Construction Retiree Dies At Age 70

John Norman Cline, 70, of 167 Grande Road, Covington, Virginia died Wednesday, December 25, 2019 in the University of Virginia Medical Center at Charlottesville.

Mr. Cline was born March 28, 1939 in Raleigh County, West Virginia, a son of the late Robert and Genevieve Cline.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brandi Cline.

He was a retired equipment maintenance employee for D. D. Kerns Construction Co.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Burgin Cline of Covington; his son, Michael Cline, and his wife, Davita of Selma, NC; two daughters, Mary Smith of Roanoke and Patricia Ashwell and her husband, Jeff of Oak Hill, WV; a step-son, Harry Miller of Beckley, WV; a step-daughter, Kim Miller of Beckley, WV; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ruth Cline of Surveyor, WV, and Kenneth and Gail Cline of Mullens, WV; one sister, Mary Conrad of Culpepper and a number of nieces and nephews.

Following cremation of his body, a memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Steve Richards officiating.
