Obituary for Georgie Louise Coffey Henson Georgie Louise Coffey Henson
Buena Vista Resident Dies At Age 100

Georgie Louise Coffey Henson, 100, of Buena Vista, Virginia answered her Saviors call on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019. She was looking forward to the call. She has been preparing to take the trip since she was baptized January 29, 1929.

Georgie was a member of the First Brethren Church for 80-plus years, where she was an active member since she taught Sunday school at the age of 16.

Georgie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She said every day was so precious, so don't waste it. Her motto was, "Make your reservation at your final destination, then enjoy the trip." She loved God, family and friends, in that order.

Georgie was married to Harry Thomas Henson, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage. Her parents, Henry Moses and Mollie Oliver Coffey, eight sisters, six brothers, and daughter-in-law, Patsy Henson also predeceased her.

Surviving are son, Toney Henson; three grandchildren, Dean Henson and wife, Donna, Tonya Hunt, and Troy Henson; four great-grandchildren, Meredith, Garrett and Charlotte Henson, and DeLana Huffman, and her father, Brent Huffman; five special cousins, Frances, Evelyn, Caroline, Eloise, and Betty; one special sister-in-law, Helen Coffey of Lexington; special friends, Larry Hazelwood and Judy Swoop; many wonderful nieces and nephews and thousands of friends in heaven and all over the USA. She is also survived by her loving pastor, Mike Hamilton and family.

A funeral was conducted Friday, December 27, 2020 at First Brethren Church by the Rev. Michael Hamilton. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Brethren Church Van Fund.

Arrangements were handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services
