David Wilson Ramsey, 81, of Lexington, Virginia died Sunday, January 19, 2020 at his home.

Born August 7, 1938 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Henry David Wilson Ramsey and Sally Virginia Hayslett Ramsey.

He was a member of the Poplar Hill Presbyterian Church and was the owner/operator of Ramsey Electric for 50 years.

David loved his family and enjoyed racing.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Eva Irvine Ramsey; children, Timothy David Ramsey (Kathy), and Larry Wayne Ramsey (Karey); brother, William Riley Ramsey of Lexington; sister, Edna Ramsey Dedrick of Fairfield; and three grandchildren, Austin, Logan and Lindsey.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 23 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dean Staton. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 22 at Harrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450.
