Clifton Forge Resident Was Boys Home House Mother, Longtime LOA Volunteer

Margaret Mae Fairburn Hodges, age 89, of 1710 Main Street, Apartment 11, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, January 20, 2020 at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Low Moor.

She was born June 14, 1930 in Tennessee to the late Margaret Wood Fairburn.

She was a 1947 graduate of Eagle Rock High School, a retired House Mother for Boys Home of Virginia, and volunteered with the League of Older Americans for over 18 years.

She enjoyed going for rides, vacationing at the beach, and visiting her brothers in Georgia.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Tuckwiller and a sister, Mary Siple.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim Potter of Yorktown; a son, Bob Tuckwiller and wife, Judy of West Virginia; four brothers, Ronald Fairburn and wife, Sumi, Richard Fairburn and wife, Julie, and Gary Fairburn and wife, Sandy, all of Georgia, and Ted Fairburn of North Carolina; a grandson, Trey Johnson of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. There will be no services held at this time.
