Shirley Marie Reid, 79, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born April 11, 1940 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Lonnie Mae Floyd.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Derrick Taylor; a great-grandson, Christopher Coleman; a brother, Larry Floyd; and sisters-in-law, Kathy Agnor and Linda Lilley.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James Edward Reid, Jr.; five sons, Richard Allen Taylor (Becky), Garry Dean Taylor (Dana), Michael Shawn Taylor (Karen), Anthony Keith Taylor (Teresa), Dennis Blake Taylor (Theresa); and daughter, Tonia Reid McFaddin; 13 grandchildren, Richard Allen Taylor, Jr., Brian Taylor, Joey Coleman, Joshua Coleman, Jacob Coleman, Jason Taylor, Jessica Thomas, Travis Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Jr. (D.J.), Amanda Derr, Reid McFaddin, and Lane McFaddin; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, William Floyd; sisters, Joyce Sorrells, Mary Horne, and Linda Floyd; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila Layton (Alex), Patsy Vest (Ernie), Brenda Hostetter (Carl), Ronnie Reid (Shirley), Garvis Agnor, Frank Lilley, and Brendan Corbin.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2020 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by Pastor Bobby Ray Presnell and Jim Reid. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
