Rockbridge County Native Founding Member Of The Rockbridge Baths Fire Department

Lewis Coleman Dudley, 87, of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his home.

He was born July 8, 1932 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late William Lindsay Dudley and Phoebe E. Hall Dudley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Laird Dudley.

He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Rockbridge Baths Fire Department.

Lewis enjoyed riding horses in his earlier years and playing golf in his later years.

Surviving are his wife, Doris Swisher Dudley; children, Beverly D. Mohler (Phil) of Rockbridge Baths and Debbie D. Cox (Cecil) of Fairfield; one sister; Doris Hanger of Orange; two grandchildren, Skylor M. Campbell (Richard) and Meredith N. Love (Shaun); and one great-grandchild, Madelyn G. Love.

The funeral will be at conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 9 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jody Lipham, the Rev. William Bearden and the Rev. Ray Tucker. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, McCurdy Lane, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473 or the Rockbridge Baths Fire Department, 5024 Maury River Road, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473.
