John David McKemy, 62, of Lexington, Virginia died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

He was born January 15, 1958 in Lexington, a son to the late Cecil Ray McKemy and Nancy McCullough McKemy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Hall, and one brother, Larry McKemy.

Surviving are his siblings, Jean Brads (Jessie), Mary Brads (Billy) and Pat Rhodenizer (Stevie); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, his special work family at Lee Hi, and his special canine companion, Chase.

A celebration of John's life will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Vista Links Golf Course Pavilion.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given in John's memory to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450.
