Obituary for Ellen Morgan Friedman Ellen Morgan Friedman
Teacher Was Longtime Lewisburg Resident

Ellen Morgan Friedman, 73, a long-time resident of Lewisburg, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Peyton Hospice House after a short battle with cancer.

She was surrounded by friends and family.

Born Ellen Taylor on September 17, 1946 at Nyack Hospital in New York to George and Margaret (Heffernan) Taylor, she grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey with her three siblings.

She received her teaching degree from Patterson State College and went on to touch countless lives with her nurturing care and dedication to both the well being and education of children. She enjoyed working in her gardens, reading and having wonderful adventures with her friends and loved ones.

Ellen is preceded in death by her father, George, her mother, Margaret and her first husband, Thomas O. Morgan.

She will be forever loved and remembered by her three children and their spouses, Rachel (Morgan) and Kevin Carr of Charleston, Daniel and Lora Morgan of Renick and Virginia (Morgan) and Brad Smith of Centreville, VA; her two step children, Joanne Morgan and her husband, Bob Boland of Union and Thomas and Erika Morgan of Brick Township, New Jersey.

She leaves behind: twelve beloved grandchildren,Nathan, Morgan, Sara and Lindsay Carr, Cole and Patrick Morgan, Kylee and Austin Smith, Robert Jackson and Johnathan Cochran, and Thomas and Tyler Morgan; her three siblings, George Taylor and his wife, Gerry of Maxwelton, Nancy Taylor of Cornwall On Hudson, New York and Sandra (Taylor) and her husband, Steve Newman from Greenwood Lake, New York; her former husband, Davis Friedman, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A celebration of Ellen's life will be held at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Memorial donations may be made to The Family Refuge Center, P. O. Box 249, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
