Obituary for Lillian Hall Wood Lillian Hall Wood
Retired Hercules, Inc. Inspector Was McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church Member

Lillian Hall Wood, 97, of 2218 Dressler Drive, Covington, Virginia went to be with the Lord from her residence on Saturday, February 8, 2020, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Wood was born March 30, 1922 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Charles P. Hall and Letcher Love Hall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Winston Wood, and three sisters and six brothers.

She worked at the former Silk Mill and Westvaco and retired as an inspector for Hercules, Inc.

She was a longtime member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, Circle #1 of the church and the Covington Senior Citizens.

Surviving are her son, Eugene W. Hinton, Jr., and his wife, Sue Ellen of Covington; her step-son, Larry E. Wood and his wife, Brenda of Roanoke; one sister, Bernice Crawford; and her husband, Malcolm of Covington; two brothers, Charles "Jiggs" Hall and Richard A. Hall, both of Cllifton Forge; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews including Wanda Engleman and her husband, Dickie; a number of special friends, including Wayne and Dreama Ogden and Randy and Bonnie Canterbury.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Moss officiating assisted by the Rev. Bill Gilliland.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour before service time at the church.

The family suggests that donations in her name be made to McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, 900 North Alleghany Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.

Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
