Obituary for Floyd Herbert Roberts Floyd Herbert Roberts
Clifton Forge Resident Was Retired Washington, D. C. Police Detective

Floyd Herbert Roberts, 84, of 3501 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor.

Mr. Roberts was born June 22, 1935 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Floyd and Catherine Dooley Roberts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Roberts, and two sisters, Ann Nance and Dr. Margaret Abernathy.

He was a retired detective with the Washington, DC, Police Department.

Surviving are his son, Brett Roberts of Covington; three daughters, Christy Lee Hall and her husband, Steve of Montpelier, Lauren May McCarthy of Palm County, FL, and Pamela Ray Thompson of Stuart County, FL; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A funeral service will be held at a later date.

Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, is in charge of arrangements.
