Obituary for Maxine Marie Whanger Maxine Marie Whanger
Ronceverte Homemaker Was Former Ketron United Methodist Church Member

Maxine Marie Whanger, 88, of Ronceverte, West Virginia passed away March 1, 2020 at her home following a sudden illness.

Born on August 11, 1931 at Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Edna Morgan Ford.

Maxine was former member of Ketron United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Merrel N. Whanger, who died May 1, 2017; her sister, Detra Hudson and brothers, Donald and Dennis Ford.

She is survived by daughters, Martha Sue Kirk and husband, Cary of Renick, Nora Mann and companion, Terry Walkup of Renick, and Barbara Gabbert of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Michelle Bales, Sheree Rideout, Monica Mann, Lisa Ochoa, Chad Kirk, Michael Gabbert, Tonya Langdon, and Anthony Mann; 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Bessie Brooks of Taylors, SC.: son-in-law, Cecil Gabbert of Ronceverte; and former son-in-law, Larry Mann of Ronceverte.

As per Maxine's wishes, there will be a private family graveside.
