Obituary for Hazel M. Allen Brown Hazel M. Allen Brown
White Sulphur Springs Resident Dies At Age 98

Hazel M. Allen Brown departed this life on March 5, 2020 at Peyton House-Hospice Care, Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Born on August 7, 1921 in Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Allen, Sr. and late Hazel B. Pack Allen.

Hazel "Sis" was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Ronceverte, and a graduate of Bolling High School in Lewisburg.

In 1946, she married Homer M. Brown and moved to White Sulphur Springs, where she joined St. James United Methodist Church and became a homemaker and friend to many people in her neighborhood. Here she developed the joys of her life: singing hymns, reading her daily prayers/devotions, watching professional baseball (LA Dodgers) and watching soap operas.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Carolyn Brown Bonds; grandchildren, Courtney N. Brown of MD, Alice M. Brown of White Sulphur Springs, Elizabeth Brown Gibson (James) of MI, Allan L. (Cory) Brown, Sr. of MI, "love-granddaughter", Lisa M. Allen of Huntington; daughter-in-law, Eleanor M. Brown of MI; great-grandchildren, Niklas Brown-Jones, Joshua R. Gibson, Allana Brown, Allan Brown, Jr. "love great-grandson", Dominic K. Allen; sisters, Mrs. Marion Jordan of MD and Mrs. Betty Sears of NJ. Sis is also survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Homer, a son, Allen F. "Pete", brothers: Clarence "Bussie", and Henry C. and sisters, Lucille B. Neil, Louise Allen, Rosalie Washington, Geraldine Allen, Hildeguard Allen and Barbara Allen.

Mrs. Brown's homegoing services will be Saturday, March 14, 2020 at St. James United Methodist Church. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with services following. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peyton House-Hospice Care, 1265 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV
