Obituary for William Lee (Bill) Hardbarger William Lee (Bill) Hardbarger
Millboro Resident Was Retired CSX Engineer, Beef Cattle Producer

William Lee (Bill) Hardbarger, age 66, of 703 Elks Camp Road, Millboro, Virginia died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at his residence.

He was born October 25, 1953 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Herbert Chesley Hardbarger and Mary Elizabeth White Hardbarger.

He was a retired Engineer for CSX Transportation, working for over 30 years.

He was a member, Elder, former Treasurer, and sang in the choir of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Cowpasture River Preservation Association and a member of the Bath County Electoral Board.

Bill was a beef cattle producer who loved gardening, basketball, traveling and beach trips.

He is survived by his wife, Christie Conner Hardbarger of Millboro; a daughter, Katie Hardbarger Grist and husband, Adam of Marietta, GA; a son, Joshua David Hardbarger and wife, Edie of Dallas, GA; a sister-in-law, Tammy Conner of Clifton Forge; a brother, Herbert C. Hardbarger, Jr. of Millboro; three grandchildren, Evie Grist, Abe Hardbarger, Jax Hardbarger; a nephew, Tom Hardbarger; a niece, Mary Jackson; and a host of cousins and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church with Reverend Paul Brokaw and Reverend John Haney officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
