Virginia Elvire Vest, 96, of Kerrs Creek, Virginia passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 in Rockbridge County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orie "Sam" Vest Sr., and parents, William Jesse and Deliah Wilhelm Vest.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. Virginia was full of life, spirit, and love. She was an amazing cook, feeding family and friends whenever they would visit, and no one ever went hungry at her table. She made everyone feel welcome and loved with her feisty spirit and wonderful sense of humor.

Virginia is survived by her son, Orie "Sam" Vest Jr. and wife, Violet A. Vest of Natural Bridge; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Harrison's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at Harrison's immediately preceding the service. Interment will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church.
