Obituary for Gene B. Breeden Gene B. Breeden
Westvaco Retiree Was Longtime Farmer

Gene B. Breeden, 89, of 4208 Dunlap Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, March 19, 2020 in the Brian Center Nursing Home at Low Moor.

Mr. Breeden was born May 20, 1930 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Charles L. and Maude Gaylor Breeden.

He retired from the plant protection department at Westvaco in 1998 after 43 years with the company.

He was a member of Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose and enjoyed farming for all of his life.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Patty McDaniel Breeden of Covington; his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sherry Breeden of Covington; two grandchildren, Amanda Breeden of Covington and Chance Breeden and his wife, Lindsay of Covington; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Breeden of Roanoke; a brother-in-law, James McDaniel, and his wife, Addie of Covington; three great granddaughters, Brynley, Breanna and Maebry; several nieces, nephews beloved cousins and his special friend, Earl McDaniel.

Due to the current pandemic crisis, a private graveside service will be held Sunday at Palestine Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family suggests that donations in Gene's name be made to the Palestine Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o Joann Cook, 4511 Indian Draft Road, Covington, VA 24426.
