White Sulphur Springs Resident Was Former Bouncer, Postal Worker, Taxi Driver

Thomas Ray Burger, 64, of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Greenbrier Health Care Center in Fairlea.

Born February 20, 1956 in Ronceverte, WV, the son of Hazel Marie Reynolds and the late Charles Lewis Burger.

Thomas was a member of the Family of God Church in White Sulphur Springs.

He loved sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed watching television in his free time, loved cats and had a respect for all animals. He loved his mother the most and all his family.

He worked as a bouncer at The Black Bear Tavern in White Sulphur Springs, and later as a postal worker and taxi driver.

Other than his father, he is preceded in death by a sister, Sherry Russell; and brother-in-law, William Ewing.

Other than his mother, he is survived by sister, Sandy Ewing of Caldwell, WV; special niece, "like a daughter he never had" Tracey Boggs and husband, Denny of Frankford, WV; nephew, Brandon DePriest and wife, Kelly of Caldwell, WV; great-nieces and great-nephews, Michaela Boggs, Nathaniel Boggs, Kayli DePriest, Laney DePriest, and Harlow DePriest.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, 884 Jefferson Street, North, Lewisburg WV 24901 to help with funeral expenses.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Greenbrier Health Care Staff for their care.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
