On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Carrie Lee Mason of Brownsburg left her earthly home to rejoin her mother and father.

Carrie was the daughter of the late William Alexander Walters and Dina Benson Walters.

Carrie was a lifetime resident of Rockbridge County. She was a homemaker, yard-saler, cat lover and devoted mother and grandmother.

Carrie was the mother of two children, Mellyora Leigh Mason and Kevin Scott Mason, both of Rockbridge Baths. She had two granddaughters, Raven Cheyenne Groah of Rockbridge Baths and Taylor Nicole Mason of Harrisonburg. Carrie was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Spencer Bailey Noel. Carrie had numerous cousins, but one who was very dear to her, Nellie Cales of Raphine.

A celebration of Carrie's life will be planned for later in the spring.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cats Unlimited, P. O. Box 484, Lexington, VA 24450, a foundation close to her heart.

"I love you like a big ole rock"… may have been an inside joke between a grandmother and granddaughter, but it still holds true. Our love for the deceased is as strong as stone and eternal!
