Restaurant Industry Employee Dies At Age 75

Karen Inez Horner, 75, of Ronceverte, West Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

Born December 12, 1944 in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter of the late Burl Harry and Elaine Walker Horner.

Karen was a Christian and worked in the restaurant industry prior to being disabled.

Other than her parents, she is preceded by an uncle, Neil Horner and wife, Ruth; brother, Danny Truesdale; and a grandson.

Survivors include her children, Robert Leroy Schaffer of Joplin, Missouri; Rodney Alan Schaffer of Elko New Market, Minnesota, Steven Loren Mercer of Bedford, VA, Phyllis Ann Lemons of Ronceverte, Eric Lee Mercer of Ronceverte, and Kathy Inez Farley, also of Ronceverte; twin-sister, Sharen Elaine Coulter of Clintonville; brothers, Burl Steven Horner of Golden, Colorado, Jim Hughey of Alaska, Bob Hughey of Oregon, and Jack Samuel Horner of Green Bank; also surviving are twenty three grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; aunts, Gertrude Taylor of Green Bank and Naomi McQueen of Arbovale.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

The family requests no flowers at this time and ask that contributions be made to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, 884 Jefferson St. North, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
