Thomas Wade Ruley, 85, of Buena Vista, Virginia died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home.

Born March 13, 1935 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Wade Hampton Ruley and Julia Mae Fix Ruley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Ruley (Bobby), Wilbert Ruley, Frankie Ruley, Bradley Ruley, Paul Ruley and Samuel Ruley; and one sister, Julia Ruley.

He was a member of the Ebenezer A. R. Presbyterian Church, but attended Wesley Chapel Church. Wade retired from Burlington Industries with 18 years of service and previously worked at Berson Silk Mill for 25 years.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Carter Ruley; children, Phyllis Ruley, Teresa Ruley, Thomas Ruley Jr. (Jennifer), and Gregory Ruley; brother, Jimmy Ruley; and grandchildren Chris and Andrew Ruley.

A private memorial service will be held at Harrison Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may given to the Ebenezer ARP Church, 788 Ebenezer Circle, Lexington, VA 24450. Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
