Pennsylvania Native Dies At Age 69

Susan Kay Price Herstine, age 69, of 43 Flat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

She was born November 9, 1950 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to the late Woodrow and Thelma Roberts Price.

She worked in foster care for DePaul Family Services and also worked for Orvis in their Roanoke warehouse.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Chuck Price, Red Price, Bob Price and Bill Price, and a sister, Brenda Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Herstine of Clifton Forge; two sons, Troy Herstine of Largo, FL and Adam Herstine of Covington; five sisters, Peggy Wilcoxen, Carol Creese, Vickie Smith, Beverly Baker and Pattie Culley; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Herstine, Haley Herstine, Alivia Herstine, Skylar Herstine, Kember Herstine, Lydia Herstine, Alyssa Herstine and Hannah Herstine; three great grandchildren, Sophia, Noah and Elliot; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Hookstown, Pennsylvania.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is handling arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions for breast cancer research to Susan G. Komen, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 526, Dallas, TX 75244.
