Obituary for Makayla Danyale Carter Makayla Danyale Carter
Ronceverte Native Dies In Arizona At Age 21

Makayla Danyale Carter, 21, of Lewisburg, WV passed away on March 31, 2020 in Avondale, AZ and as born-again believer, she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

Makayla was born on July 7, 1998 in Ronceverte, WV. She was the daughter of Matt and Julie Carter of Lewisburg, WV.

Makayla was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, proud aunt, and loyal friend. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She was a caring, loving, old soul who was always willing to lend an ear and offer words of encouragement to anyone that may need them. Makayla was a unique spirit and she lived life to the beat of her own drum.

Makayla loved spending time with her niece, Kooper, camping, spending time in nature, music, sunrises, sunsets, knitting, cross-stitching, and sleeping. One of her favorite places to be was Sherwood Lake and she had also grown to love the sunrises and sunsets of Arizona. Makayla was a born athlete - she played softball throughout her youth, soccer from the age of three up through her senior year of college, and basketball in elementary school through high school.

Makayla was a 2016 graduate of Greenbrier East High School and a 2019 graduate of Emory & Henry, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.

At the time of her death Makayla was in training to be an Investigator for the Arizona Department of Child Safety. She attended Bethesda Church of White Sulphur Springs, WV and more recently she attended Generation Church of Mesa, Arizona.

Makayla is survived by her parents Matt and Julie Carter of Lewisburg, WV; sister, Kelsey Carter of Ronceverte, WV; brother, Brent Carter of Nashville, TN; sister, Kaitlin Rohan and husband, David of Avondale, AZ; sister, Abbie Carter of Frankford, WV and brother, Evan Carter of Lewisburg, WV; niece, Kooper Carter of Avondale, AZ; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Mary Morgan of Organ Cave, WV; paternal grandparents, Bob and Sadie Carter of Second Creek, WV; many uncles, great uncles, aunts, great aunts, cousins and friends, who will all miss her dearly.

Due to the current social distancing restrictions of the coronavirus, the family will not be able to have services at this time. The family hopes to have a Celebration of Life for Makayla in July 2020. The family will post details of the Celebration of Life on social media once the restrictions have lifted and all family and friends will be notified. All are welcome to attend and help us celebrate the life of Makayla.

In lieu of flowers, friends of the family have set up an account for donations at First Citizens Bank to help the family with the expenses of this tragic loss.

The Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, West Virginia, handled the arrangements.
