Obituary for Henry Boyce Slough Henry Boyce Slough
Rockbridge County Native Was U. S. Navy Veteran, Hoffman Beverage Company Retiree

Henry Boyce Slough, 82, of Fairfield, Virginia died Thursday, April 30, 2020 at University of Virginia Hospital.

Born September 26, 1937 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Elmer Slough and Clara Snyder Slough.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Dixon Slough and son, Steven B. Slough.

He was a member of the Vesuvius Baptist Church, but attended the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. Henry served his country in the U. S. Navy and retired from Hoffman Beverage Company.

He loved hiking, hunting, the outdoors and traveling.

Surviving are his children, Dennis J. Slough and wife, Debbie of Lawrenceville, Ga., Katherine E. Demers and husband, Brian of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Jimmy Slough of Mt. Solon and Carl Slough of Rockbridge County; and a sister, Barbara Jean Sloan of Madison Heights; special loving companion, Carol Hines; four grandchildren, Emily Jennings and husband, Matt and their children, Easton and Stella, Karen Slough, Alex Demers, Kyle Demers.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery by the Rev. Sarah Hill.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476.
