Obituary for Albert Sidney Johnston Tucker III Albert Sidney Johnston Tucker III
Accomplished Audio Engineer Dies At Age 71

Albert Sidney Johnston Tucker III, 71, beloved son, husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend returned home to his Father in Heaven on April 30, 2020.

While his passing is unexpected, it is a great comfort that his time here ended while he was engaged in three of his passions: helping others, serving his church, and working with sound.

The oldest child of Albert Sidney Johnston Tucker Jr. and Barbara (Hicks) Tucker, Al and his younger siblings spent the first years of their lives seeing much of the world. His father served as colonel in the U. S. Air Force following his service as a pilot in World War II. While stationed in England and Turkey, the family grew up overseas before settling in their hometown of Lexington, Virginia.

Al was a skilled and accomplished audio engineer. He began his highly successful career at Maryland Sound Industries in the 1970s, and quickly became one of the industry's top talents working with some of music's most famous entertainers.

While headquartered in Baltimore City, Md., he met the late Patricia Nubeck and the two married in 1978. Al and Pat had two children, Albert Sidney Johnston Tucker IV "Rusty," and Rachael Josephine Tucker. After Pat's passing following a courageous battle with cancer, Al met Deborah Klipp in 1999, with whom he would happily share the rest of his life.

In 2005, Al and Deb returned to his hometown of Lexington, where they entered into a new season of life as the full-time caregiver for his father. A deeply patriotic American, he spent his time in Lexington serving the community at the local and state level. He was an active member of the St Patrick's Catholic Church parish in Lexington, where he forged a deep relationship with his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Known for making others smile, Al had an endless supply of jokes with varying degrees of humor. He was always capable of drawing out a laugh, or captivating your attention with wild stories about his music career, or an astonishing fact about the universe. Those who knew him will remember his contagious optimism, his generous nature, and his selfless attention to others. The love Al shared with family, friends, and colleagues will forever be remembered and celebrated.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his children, Albert IV and Rachael; his father, Albert Tucker Jr.; his two grandchildren, Lucy Patricia and Albert V (SJ); and his younger brothers and sisters, John (Sandy), Susie, Leslie (Ron), and Kathy (Wilbur).

Waiting to welcome him into the next life are his mother, Barbara, the mother of his children, Patricia, and his brother-in-law, Norm.
