Obituary for Rosa Leigh Watts Haston Rosa Leigh Watts Haston
Lexington Resident Was Rockbridge Regional Jail Retiree

Rosa Leigh Watts Haston, 68, died May 1, 2020 at Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

She was born May 9, 1951 in Lexington to Leroy Watts and the late Naomi Roane Watts.

She was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Theodore "Teddy" Watts.

Rosa was affectionately known as Rosa Leigh, Rose, Mom, Granny and Grandmother. She was a member of Randolph Street United Methodist Church and joined New Zion Baptist Church under watchcare when she relocated to Warsaw. Rosa enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, cooking, finding yard sales and drinking a cold Dr. Pepper, but the joys of her life were her grandchildren.

Rosa was a hard worker who retired after 28 years of service from Rockbridge Regional Jail. Until her health began to decline, she worked diligently with the kitchen committee at New Zion. Rosa also volunteered annually with Operation Inasmuch.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy West (William) of Warsaw, and Jennifer Michelle Moore of Roanoke; her son, Jonathan Haston (Kari) of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren, Darian J. Fisher (Kaitie), Jenifer West and Tyler West, Mackenzie Moore, Madeline Haston and Marcus Haston; two great-grandchildren, Madison Fisher and Cooper Fisher; her father, Leroy Watts, and two sisters, Laura Davis (Kenneth Lee) and Alice Watts, all of Lexington; one uncle, Francis Watts, and one sister-in-law, Joan Watts; the father of her children, Francis Haston of Lexington; and by a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
