Lorenza Lee Vest, Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2020.

Born February 15, 1940 in Lexington, he was the son of Lorenza Lee Vest Sr. and Myrtle Smith Vest.

Known to his friends and family as Bubby, he always had a story or joke to tell and loved to make everyone laugh. He was a proud Army veteran. He had a larger than life personality and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved to hunt and go to the beach with family. His family meant the world to him and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be remembered as bringing a smile or a laugh to anyone he ever met.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Vest and James Vest; and a sister, Pauline Conner.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Martha Higgins Vest; children, Jeffrey Vest (Robin), Sue Bryant (Keith) and Kevin Vest; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Higgins, Edith Petty and Charlene Humphries; and beloved canine companion, Bailey.

A private family graveside service was held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church in Lexington.

Arrangements were handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
