Obituary for Elva Richmond Elva Richmond
Covington Resident Dies At Age 66

Elva Richmond, 66, of Covington, Virginia, United States, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020.

Elva was born on November 10, 1953 in Hinton, West Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Letha and Mattie Via; brothers, Alton and Gary Via and sister, Glenda Nesbit.

She is survived by daughter, Crystal Lyn Sowers and husband, Justin; special friend, Warren Fuller Richmond; grandchildren, Brittany Falls and Caitlin Hamblett; great grandchild, Patrick Michael Martin, IV; two sisters, Sandra Via and Ogrete Simmons and husband, Bob.

She worked in nursing homes caring for the elderly for several years and enjoyed taking care of people. She also worked in housekeeping at Pinehurst hotel.

She was a God-fearing woman who loved reading books and listening to music. She was a kind soul who didn't let her problems in life keep her from being who she was inside. She would always help someone when they needed it. She loved to go to Goodwill and always wanted to see what the next good buy was going to be. She always called her family and checked in and asked if she could do anything to help them.

She was loved by all she came across, and she will be alongside her mother, father, brothers and sister who are in heaven looking over those who cared for her and helped her. She will no longer suffer from the worldly demons. She will always be remembered and thought of by all her loving family members, and friends she had in her life. May God rest peace on her soul and may her watch over us all and take care of her loved ones.

Rest in Peace Elva Mae Richmond, you will forever be remembered and loved as a Mother, grandmother, sister, and special friend.

Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel, Roanoke, VA (540)-362-1237.
