On Monday, May 25, 2020, Travis J. Braxton of Clinton, Maryland entered into eternal rest.

Travis was born February 4, 1980 to his loving parents Michael and Sharon Braxton and proceeded to light up the lives of everyone he encountered for thet next 40 years.

Raised in Covington, Virginia, Travis was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Travis was an athlete, participating in sports from Little League through high school, including baseball, football, and basketball. He was a dedicated fan of the Washington Redskins and Virginia Tech Holies. Travis also enjoyed coaching the Marlboro Mustangs Little League baseball team.

Travis loved music, dancing, concerts, amusement parks, attending sporting events, and travel. He had a witty sense of humor and his smile could light the darkest night.

After graduating from Covington High School in 1997, Travis joined the U. S. Air Force. His first duty assignment was as an Aircrew Life Support Technician at Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina. In 2000, Sergeant Braxton was selected to join the elite 89th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, where he directly supported the President of the United States and his cabinet aboard Air Force One and Air Force Two. During this time, he also obtained his Bachelor Science degree in History and Government from Bowie State University in 2009, followed by his Master of Arts Degree in International Relations & Conflict Resolution from American Military University in 2012. In 2013, he volunteered to cross train into the Operations Intelligence Career Field. Upon completion of training, he was assigned to Beale Air Force Base, California where he conducted 24/7 intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations.

Intelligence Evaluator Sergeant Travis Braxton retired from the Air Force on June 30, 2017. After dedicating 20 years to active duty military service, he began a second career as a Foreign Disclosure Officer Course Instructor for the Department of Defense.

Though Travis became ill with cancer, he lived his life to the fullest until he took his last breath. Travis fought cancer like the bravest lion and indeed he won the victory!

Travis leaves to cherish his memory, his loving parents, Michael and Sharon Braxton; his devoted wife and his endless love, Margo Braxton, the pride and joy of his soul; his beloved son, Langston Xavier Braxton; his dedicated sisters, Khalilah Braxton and Michele Robinson (Milton); brother, Michael (Elizabeth); adoring niece and nephew whom he adored in return, Victoria and Cory Braxton; a loving mother-in-law, Dyan Panah; dear brother-in-law, Mario Panah; adoring grandmother, Pauline Martin; a host of aunts and uncles, including Yvone Barber, Kimberly Martin, Phyllis Martin, John Martin, Jerry Martin, Linda and Roy Carter, James Braxton David Braxton, Dewayne Braxton, Judy Smith, Linda Braxton and the love of numerous cousins. Travis also shared in the love of his extended family, Mrs. Linda Sue Venable and tried, tested and true brother, Lewis Venable, Darren Venable and Curtis Jordan.

There will be a public viewing on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Wiseman Funeral Home & Chapel, 7531 Old Alexandria Ferry Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735. Additional viewing will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 3:00 p.m. with a service following at 4:00 p.m.
